About Me

I am a lyricist, topliner and songwriter based in the rural idyll of Ceredigion, West Wales in the UK.

Although I have been "writing songs" since the late 70s, in November 2009 I made a conscious effort to learn the real craft of writing songs, and in January 2011 after attending 'The Song' residential songwriting course run by Martin Sutton, I started writing songs with a commercial edge across multiple genres. In 2014, I set up a music publishing company Blades Music Ltd.

I am currently working with several cowriters to produce that killer commercial song - and am looking for publishing and sync deals. While I write an eclectic mix of songs - I am concentrating my songwriting on the current pop and dance music, and Billboard country songs.

I am an active member of the UK Musician's Union, where I sit on the Wales & South West Regional Committee, and have attended the last three Musicians Union National Conferences. I am also a member of British Association of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and the Music Producers Guild (MPG), and am registered with the Performing Rights Society (PRS) as a songwriter and music publisher and PPL at a performer and record label.

I have been in bands since the early 1980s, and I was a full time professional musician between 2005 and 2017. I currently limit my performing to live music sessions at local pubs where I drag out whatever instrument appeals on the night - electric bass, bodhran, keyboard, or just my voice.
